Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026
The statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026 has introduced several new layers to the safer recruitment process. For providers in the North West, simply checking a DBS is no longer sufficient. There is now a much stronger emphasis on Multi-Agency Child Protection and the "Duty to Share" information across the sector.
In 2026, Ofsted is particularly focused on how providers vet staff for their ability to manage Extra-Familial Harm and Digital Exploitation. Your RSWs are on the front lines of these risks, and your vetting must reflect that.
The 2026 Compliance Audit
Every RSW we place at SafeChild Recruitment undergoes a "2026-Ready" audit. This includes:
Digital Footprint Reviews: A risk-based review of public social media to ensure "Fit and Proper" status.
Competency Vetting: Specifically testing their knowledge of the 2026 National Framework indicators.
Integrated History Checks: Ensuring there are no "hidden gaps" that might suggest involvement in unregistered or "off-radar" care provision.
Protecting Your Children and Your Business
Safeguarding failures are almost always the result of poor recruitment or poor oversight. By adhering to the April 2026 ILACS updates, which place a heavy burden on local authorities to monitor the quality of their providers' staffing, you ensure your home remains a "Preferred Provider."
SafeChild acts as your first line of defence. We ensure that every RSW entering your Manchester, Liverpool, or Cheshire home has been vetted to the absolute limit of the 2026 standards, protecting the children in your care and your business's hard-earned reputation.
