Supported Accommodation

Following the introduction of mandatory registration and inspection standards for 16+ supported accommodation, providers across the North West are under pressure to recruit staff with stronger safeguarding, trauma-informed and independence-support skills. This article explores the shift from informal mentoring to regulated practice and the challenge of finding practitioners who can balance empowerment, boundaries and effective support for care leavers.
