Overview The Senior Support Worker provides high-quality care while taking on additional responsibilities for shift leadership and staff mentoring. This role is a vital link between the Support Workers and the Management team, ensuring that care standards remain high and the home runs smoothly on a shift-by-shift basis.
Leadership & Shift Management • Lead shifts effectively, ensuring all tasks are completed and handovers are detailed
• Mentor and support junior staff and new recruits during their induction
• Oversee the daily house budget and petty cash reconciliations
Care Planning & Quality • Contribute significantly to the development and review of individual care plans
• Ensure that the young people’s voices are heard and reflected in their care
• Monitor the quality of daily logs and reports written by the team
Safeguarding & Compliance • Take a lead role in managing challenging incidents and de-escalation
• Ensure the home remains compliant with Ofsted Quality Standards during the shift
• Conduct Health and Safety checks as delegated by the Manager

Overview The Residential Support Worker (RSW) provides day-to-day care and support to children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Working within a trauma-informed framework, the RSW ensures a safe, nurturing, and predictable environment where young people can recover from past experiences and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
Direct Care & Support • Act as a positive role model and "professional parent" figure
• Assist with daily routines including morning prep, meal times, and bedtime
• Support young people in attending school, college, or vocational training
• Organise and participate in age-appropriate hobbies and outings
Safeguarding & Welfare • Maintain a high level of vigilance regarding the safety of all residents
• Follow individualised Risk Assessments and Behaviour Management Plans
• Document all incidents, achievements, and concerns accurately and promptly
Home Environment & Operations • Contribute to the cleanliness and upkeep of the home to ensure a "homely" feel
• Prepare nutritious meals and involve young people in domestic life skills
• Work a rolling rota that includes long days, weekends, and sleep-ins
